Making custom hats for brands and organizations is one of our favorite things to do here at Leathering. We didn't invent the patch hat, but we're working to perfect it for you. Custom Patch Hats are a tried and true method of advertising your business whether it's on the job site or out on the town.
We’d love to work with you on creating custom hats. Below is everything you need to know about our process.

Please Read
Minor dents and creases may appear on the hats as a natural part of the customization process. Additionally, small marks on the leather patch are a natural characteristic of genuine leather. These are completely normal and do not affect the quality or wearability of the hats.
Each of our patches is meticulously applied by hand using our signature Leathering™ leather bond. This trusted method has been the foundation of our quality for years.
To maintain the integrity of your patch, we strongly advise against washing. Exposure to water can cause leather to shrink, fade, or bleed, depending on the tanning process. Additionally, harsh detergents may damage both the leather and the bonding agent.
For cleaning, we recommend spot cleaning with a soft brush to keep your hat looking its best. Thank you for caring for your Leathering™ product!

Are the patches made with real leather?
Yes. We use only genuine leather — no substitutes, no shortcuts.
What is Expert Mode?
Expert Mode lets you upload your logo, preview it on a hat, and fine-tune your design before you place an order. It’s a great way to be sure everything looks perfect before we begin production.
Can I modify or cancel my order after placing it?
Yes, you can still make changes, like updating quantities, shipping details, or uploading your logo, before approving your mockup. Once you’ve approved the mockup or production begins, changes are no longer possible.
If you need to cancel, you can do so at any time before the order ships. A 20% cancellation fee applies to all orders, and a higher percentage may be deducted if production has already started. No refunds are available once a custom item is finished.
All custom products are final sale and non-returnable unless they are defective or don’t match your approved art proof. If there’s an issue, contact us within 15 days of delivery so we can help make it right.
Can I request revisions to my mockup?
Absolutely. We include one free revision with unlimited mockups. If you’d like more adjustments after, it’s no extra fee—all part of our commitment to perfection.
Can I order just one hat?
Absolutely. Whether you need one, a few, or a hundred, we’ve got you covered.
Can I choose different colors for my order?
Yes, you can mix and match as many hat or patch colors as you'd like. We make it easy to customize your order your way.
Can I use different leather patch colors in one order?
Yes, feel free to mix leather patch colors — there’s no minimum per color. For example, you can order one hat with a tan leather patch and others with black or any available option.
How long does customization take before shipping?
After you place an order, we send your proof/mockup within 2–24 business hours. Once you approve, standard production takes 2–7 business days before shipping.
Can my order be rushed?
We offer rush production and expedited shipping options. Let us know your deadline, and we’ll do our best to meet it. Please note that additional charges may apply for both production and shipping.
What if I need my order by a certain date?
No problem—email us at support@leathering.co with your deadline right after checkout. We’ll confirm whether we can expedite production or shipping to meet your need.
